Malta Financial Services Oversight Newsletter - 17 March 2020 The Ministry for Finance and Financial Services is pleased to issue the first of a series of newsletters about the major efforts that are being made by the Maltese Government to strengthen the fight against Financial Crime.

The Accountancy Board wishes to inform you about the recent changes to the CPE Scheme approved recently and applicable as from 20 December 2016. The Accountancy Board also wishes to inform warrant holders, sole practitioners and compliance principals of firms that they may now complete the Annual Return for 2016.

Independent audit regulators from Europe, including Accountancy Board, have structured meetings with different stakeholders on audit quality issues. In November the European Audit Inspection Group (EAIG) met KPMG’s European leadership and the audit standard setters (IAASB/IESBA boards).
